Debt Cancellation Coverage for Disability and Life Protection
The Local FCU offers you the opportunity to protect you and your family from two of life’s tragedies with Debt Cancellation. The cost for Disability and Life Protection will be quoted when you apply for a loan and added into your monthly payment. Certain eligibility qualifications must be met to purchase this protection. Life Protection pays the insured balance of your loan, up to the policy maximum, helping ensure that your family won’t be left with a loan obligation in the event of your death. With Disability Protection your loan payments will be made if you become disabled and miss work from sickness or accident which persists beyond the policy waiting period, up to the policy maximum.

GAP Protection
If your vehicle is totaled by your insurance company from an accident or is stolen and never recovered, GAP Protection pays the difference between the total net insurance settlement and part or all of your remaining loan balance, based on the coverage of the GAP contract. It is offered at the time of your vehicle purchase and is coverage that provides peace of mind for very little cost.

Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI)
Need a way to protect your vehicle after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired? Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) is available at The Local FCU on new and used vehicles for various terms with no deductible. It has many benefits including; Nationwide Protection, 24-Hour Roadside Assistance for the term of the coverage, Rental Vehicle Assistance; among others, and is transferable if you sell your vehicle before your agreement expires. MBI at the credit union is usually much cheaper than an extended warranty at the dealership and can be added to your loan and included in your loan payment.

Dent Zone
Door dings are an eyesore that reduce the value of your vehicle and are costly at trade-in time. The Local FCU offers Dent Zone which is paintless dent repair that removes door dings and minor dents up to the size of a credit card. The coverage can be purchased on new and used vehicles 5 years or newer for terms of 3 or 5 years and can be used to repair existing dents. It is a great way to help your vehicle retain its value.
